Austin High School has fielded a NICA team every year since 2010.
The team has several key roles that must be filled. To maintain our 501(c)(3) designation we need 4 board positions filled (Director, Head Coach, Treasurer, Secretary). Some roles like Director and Head Coach are best filled by apprentices to the role because of the intricacy of the role. Most of the other roles can be stepped into by a motivated volunteer.
AHS endeavors to identify high-contributing coaches and parents for participation in current or subsequent years as members of leadership. Good candidates are individuals with younger participatory children so they can learn the job and contribute for a few years before their athlete ages out. The only individuals that need a coaching certification are the Head and Assistant Head coaches.
