We hold a time-trail at the start of the season. We use it as a baseline to drop athletes into PODS and as a retrospective to look back after the season.
It's a good time and a fun way to figure out where athletes are after off-season.
At each race the AHS team camps. We have a trailer, multiple popups, grills, chairs, lighting, and music. Camping is one of the banner activities of the season
At each campout we cook a Saturday evening meal for the team. We usually do a Sunday pre-race breakfast as well. Parent volunteers coordinate the meal(s) for the team and coaches.
We set our E.G.G.S. (Expectations, Goals, Stretch Goals) and get to work!
Team coaches and athletes join the Travis Country Neighborhood on the neighborhood's annual Jingle Bell Bike Ride. The Austin High Mountain Bike Team's members provide ride leaders, ride sweeps, and ride wranglers for the hundreds of participants from the neighborhood.
Doin' rad stuff, loving bikes, spreading the word!
Greasing smooth lines and keeping the chili in the bowl!
Gettin' steezy, being friendly, representing Nationwide!
ALWAYS courteous, kind, and 100% in control!
An early-season Halloween ride where we take the team deep into the Barton Creek Wilderness area to check out a mysterious failed settlement from the early 1800s. Not for the faint of heart!
Weekend rides into town to grab a burger and just hang with the crew!
The end of season party is an opportunity for the team to reflect on the season's successes and the community that blossomed over the past 6 months. At each end of season party, the team presents superlative awards to deserving athletes and coaches.
