Teamsnap is the app we use to schedule practices and races. It is the place to mark your attendance, the best way to reach the coaching staff and team members. It has some oddities, mainly that if you want to chat you must use the mobile app. The web version does not include chat. Other issues arise when you try to add a parent as a coach without adding the parent to the child's account first.
The most important aspect of TeamSnap is marking your Availability. Please do this as far in advance as you can so the coaching staff can make sure we have enough coaches to cover practices. Pro-tip - in the web version, under Availability Preferences, you can toggle it to show the next 15 (!) team events. Add notes so coaching staff can understand why the athlete/coach will be absent, late, etc.
The mobile version of the app has chat, called Messages. This is how you will communicate with the team at large, coaches directly, and other teammates.
You will still receive some communication via email, but once the season gets started (>~November 1st) Teamsnap's Messaging is the primary means of communication.
Sign-up. Follow these instructions in order.
A teamsnap link will be sent you to once you've signed up for the team. This will be sent to the rider's email.
If the rider does not have an email, we can send it to the parent - however if the parent is also a coach this will cause issues. Please consider creating an email account for your child. We realize this may be the first time your athlete has needed an email account - but it won't be the last.
Once you've established the athlete's account, please add the rider's parents to his account. The parents can be added in any order.
Parent coaches
Once your child is established and you've been added to the child's account as a parent, AHS coaching staff will establish you as a coach (designated in the app as a 'Non-participant')
Coaches
You will be sent an invite. Please sign up.
All communication must be transparent and observable. Coaches must include another coach or parent on any communication with an athlete. If an athlete contacts you directly, respond in a new message and cc a parent or coach along with the athlete.
